Who is ReMedPar?
ReMedPar is an aftermarket solutions provider focusing on a diagnostic imaging and biomedical parts. In addition to parts, ReMedPar offers training, technical support, Parts ID and part repair capabilities.

What is ReMedPar's history?
ReMedPar was founded in 1987 by Ed Sloan and is currently a portfolio company of Berkshire Partners, a private equity firm based in Boston, Massachusetts.

ReMedPar currently has over 3,000 customers around the world.

How is ReMedPar different from its competition?
Relative to other aftermarket parts providers, ReMedPar focuses on an Inventory model where a majority of our parts come from our own inventory. All parts are tested at the component level, in quality assurance bays in our test facilities, by factory trained technicians. As a result of this focus our delivery is highly technical and results in support functions such as technical support, parts ID and training which our competition does not offer. While ReMedPar does source parts, this is not our primary focus as it is with our competition.

What are your hours of operation?
Our general office hours are from 7 AM to 7 PM CST with Customer Service Support available 24x7x365. Further, we staff on-call technical support engineers to field calls beyond normal business hours.

Do you have technical support?
Yes, ReMedPar offers technical support by modality with specific factory experience for various models. Our customer support comes at no additional charge based upon your level of business with us.

Do you have Parts ID support?
ReMedpPar is one of the only aftermarket parts providers that dedicates technical support engineers to help our customer identify the right part to order. Approximately 20 to 25% of our customer orders require the assistance of Parts Identification at the time of ordering. With more accurate identification of parts our customer can expect quicker uptime and fewer returns, resulting in a better customer experience.

Is ReMedPar ISO Certified?
ReMedPar has started its ISO 9001 certification process, and we expect this to be completed in the first quarter of 2010.

What can a customer typically expect in the form of a savings from buying OEM parts?

How do I know that I am getting a quality part that works?
ReMedPar was a pioneer in the concept of using test beds or quality assurance bays which enable ReMedPar to use a working system (QA Bay) to verify part performance to OEM specifications from a "harvest" system. All parts are tested before they go to the finished goods inventory. Our failure rate of parts is less than 1%.

Does buying parts in the aftermarket mean that I am buying an inferior part?
Our customers include the Multi-Vendor Service arms of Medical OEMs, who use ReMedPar as a cost effective and reliable means of servicing their contracts. Our parts are reconditioned and tested to the original OEM specifications, guaranteeing performance upon delivery.

Does ReMedPar offer used or new parts?
ReMedPar offers new, reconditioned, and used parts for diagnostic imaging and clinical biomedical equipment. All used parts from ReMedPar inventory are tested in a Quality Assurance Bay prior to shipping.

What modalities does ReMedPar support and sell?
ReMedPar has Quality Assurance Bays established for CT, MRI, Ultrasound, X-Ray, Portables, Mammography and Cardiovascular X-Ray and supports the part requests for these modalities primarily from inventory. In addition ReMedPar has an extensive list of qualitifed suppliers to use in augmenting your part needs beyond the ReMedPar inventory.

Beyond the cost savings to the hospital what other benefits does ReMedPar offer?
ReMedPar can save substantial time each day for the in-house organization by providing parts, sourcing, technical support and parts ID. On average we can reduce the time per part ordered by 50% to 75% resulting in significant productivity enhancement for the in house engineer.

Does ReMedPar sell tubes?
Yes. ReMedPar can offer our customer new tubes though reselling agreements with partners such as Dunlee. If Dunlee does not manufacture a tube that our customer needs, we can acquire the tube from qualified aftermarket resources.

Are your parts coming from your own inventory or are they sourced?
Most of ReMedPar's parts come from our own inventory, which is primarily focused on high end diagnostic imaging equipment. Our inventory continues to grow (currently approaching $50 million.) When ReMedPar does not have a part in inventory, we utilize supply chain resources with approximately 1,000 industry-recognized, quality suppliers.

Do you offer training classes that are not listed on the website?
Yes. Quite frequently our customers or a multi-vendor service organization will ask us to design a specific class for their engineers. We work with our customer to develop a customized curriculum.

Does ReMedPar provide any on-line ordering capabilities?
Yes, ReMedPar offers a web-based tool that allows our customer to develop a quick shopping cart of items that is fulfilled by our 24x7 customer service organization.

What is a capitation contract?
Capitation is a contract whereby the customer agrees to pay a flat monthly fee which allows the customer to have a predicable parts expenditure month to month. The capitated provider bears all the parts costs associated with the installed base of the insured installed base of equipment. Read more in our whitepaper Capitated Parts Agreements.

Does ReMedPar buy equipment, and if so, what kinds?
ReMedPar's product management is always evaluating the installed base of our customers and trends in equipment purchases. As a result we buy a wide array of systems across many modalities. See Capital Recovery Program for more information.

What is the latest that I can order a part and have it arrive next day?
Our local FEDEX hub can receive packages as late as 9:00 PM CST for next day delivery. Keep in mind that it generally takes time to box, ship and transport parts from ReMedPar's factory to the FEXED hub. We generally budget about 1 hour before the close as a deadline.

How do I return exchange parts to ReMedPar?
With each shipment ReMedPar provides an RMA as well as instructions for items that need to be returned.

Where do returns get shipped if ReMedPar sourced the part?
All parts are returned to ReMedPar whether they came from our inventory or were sourced from one of our quality suppliers. Our central returns model allows for expeditious processing of credits and reduced hassle commonly associated with returns and credits. Read more about this at Customer Experience.

Do you charge re-stock fees? How much?
Restocking fees generally run between 15% and 25% depending on various factors, including whether the package is opened and in some instances how fast you can commit to returning the item.

How can I open a credit terms account with ReMedPar?

Does ReMedPar take credit cards?
Yes. We accept MasterCard, Visa, and American Express. We also accept Wire Transfers and Western Union.

What is the standard warranty for parts sold by ReMedPar?
For parts sold from ReMedPar's inventory, the standard warranty is 90 days. Warranties on tubes and sourced parts will vary. ReMedPar passes the supplier's warranty to the customer with all sourced parts.

What packaging precautions does ReMedPar take when preparing my shipment?
ReMedPar has implemented a part packaging process at point-of-repair to ensure technical and quality control. This process includes checks that the part and part number are correct, the part is complete, and quality testing has been performed. Packaging includes ESD-safe materials, the use of reusable shipping containers to enable easy return of exchange parts, quality testing documentation and part installation instructions. Completing part packaging at point-of-repair ensures a higher level of quality and a single point of corrective action should a problem be identified.

Who pays for shipping?
The customer is responsible for all shipping costs. ReMedPar will use the customer's shipping account upon request, please ask the customer service representative at the time of placing your order.

Which shipping services does ReMedPar utilize?
Multiple shipping options are available including Fedex, DHL, UPS, and freight forwarder options. However, ReMedPar most commonly uses Fedex with 95% of our deliveries priority one (P1) overnight.

Can I get the part the same day?
In some instances parts can be received in the same day, if it is a ground delivery to a location that is near our headquarters in the Nashville, TN area. Under certain contracts we agree to stock in various locations.

Does ReMedPar sell to international customers?
Yes, ReMedPar ships parts globally and has dedicated customer service representatives familiar with customs requirements in order to process your request most efficiently.
